NewsCom, the Los Angeles-based digital content distributor, has
launched a redesign of its Web site with enhanced search
capabilities.

The site, which distributes photos, graphics, and other editorial
content, now offers pre-set searches on current events through
the Front Page, Feeatures, Sports, and Entertainment sections.
Newscom also distributes illustrations, cartoons, paginated
pages, and interactive content from providers such as Reuters,
Agence France-Presse, Getty Images, Tribune Media Services, New
York Times Syndicate and News Service, Knight Ridder/Tribune,
UPI, and Washington Post Writers Group.

"The new Search by Content section allows subscribers to perform
their searches within specific content types making it easier
than ever to find the photos they need," said Maryann Grau,
president of Newscom.

Newscom, formerly a Times Mirror company, became a unit of
Tribune Media Services (TMS) last year when Tribune Co. bought
Times Mirror. In November, TMS and Knight Ridder merged Newscom
and Knight Ridder's PressLink to form a joint venture.
