NewsStand Links Print, Web Content

Posted
By: E&P Staff NewsStand Inc., Austin, Texas, which distributes newspapers and magazines via the Internet for off- or online reading, now offers keyword linking, allowing unlimited access through hotlinks from its e-Editions to Web content. The feature speeds integration of print and Web content for publications with an e-Edition and a Web site or other Internet-accessible information.

Publishers can select an unlimited number of words in editorial and advertising content to point to specific information on their Web sites. For example, if a publisher wished to associate the words "global warming" with a specific URL containing a study on the publisher's Web site, NewsStand would make the words "hot" wherever they appear in the e-Edition, linking them to the study. Or an author's named mentioned in a story could be associated with his or her e-mail address.
