The New York Times on the Web has added HealthStreet Interactive
Inc.'s nationwide healthcare provider search engine to its site.

As part of the Web site's Science/Health section, the HealthStreet
directories are now searchable by nytimes.com users without leaving
the newspaper's site.

HealthStreet, based in Hackensack, N.J., functions as an independent
clearinghouse for information on physicians, dentists, hospitals, and
health plans. HealthStreet gathers the data from accrediting
organizations, licensing bureaus, government agencies, hospitals,
and health plans and then constructs a searchable database.
HealthStreet continuously updates the database.
