By: E&P Staff Martin G. Reynolds has been named editor of The Oakland (Calif.) Tribune.
Since 2006, Reynolds has served as managing editor, leading the staff on such projects and initiatives as The Chauncey Bailey Project, an investigative series examining the circumstances surrounding the murder of the Oakland Post editor and the events that led to his death.
Reynolds, 39, began his journalism career in 1995 as a Chips Quinn intern at the Tribune. He has remained at the paper since, serving as a metro reporter, assistant city editor, and associate editor for special projects, in addition to M.E.
He is a 2005 graduate of the Robert C. Maynard Institute for Journalism Education's Media Academy at Northwestern University.
