Oasis Newsfeatures Serves up 'Kitchen Scientist' Column

By: Dave Astor Oasis Newsfeatures has added to its menu by syndicating "The Kitchen Scientist," a food column (http://www.thekitchenscientist.com) by Tara H. Hayes, an African-American food writer based in Natchez, Miss.

Ironically, Hayes didn't learn how to cook until she was newly married and in graduate school, and had grown tired of the same old flavors. She holds a master's degree in plant and soil science, a bachelor's degree in biology, an associate's degree in hotel/restaurant management, and another associate's degree in the culinary arts. Hayes has worked as a short-order cook, assistant pastry chef, and test-kitchen assistant.

Oasis also syndicates "The Amish Cook," which was formerly done by Elizabeth Coblentz and is now written by her daughter Lovina.
