By: E&P Staff The Orange County (Calif.) Register is the latest paper to carry entertainment-oriented CD-ROMs from iMedia International.
The Register will distribute the discs -- which include movie previews from Universal Press Syndicate, downloadable songs, and interviews with actors -- the last Sunday of every month starting Nov. 26. The paper's Web site, ocregister.com, will update entertainment content from iMedia daily with content like viral video programs.
"Our partnership with iMedia represents our company's big-picture plan of delivering useful and entertaining information in a variety of different products and formats," Lelani Bluner, vice president of marketing at Freedom Orange County Information, publisher of the Register, said in a statement.
The Register is the tenth newspaper to join the iMedia network that sells interactive national advertising. National and local advertisers can run video and text ads on the CD-ROMs. iMedia sells the national advertising while the paper sells local ads. iMedia shares its revenue with its newspaper partners.
