Opinion Columnists Now Ideologically Labeled on Creators.com

By: E&P Staff Creators Syndicate has begun labeling its opinion columnists by ideology on its Web site.

The syndicate has 27 conservative, 19 liberal, five libertarian, and three "unaffiliated" columnists. And one columnist, Phil Lucas, is labeled as both conservative and libertarian.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is Bill O'Reilly, who is called "unaffiliated" on Creators.com despite often taking conservative stands.

Creators is not the first syndicate to label commentators. Tribune Media Services does it, and Cagle Cartoons categorizes some of the editorial cartoons it sells as either liberal or conservative.
