By: E&P Staff San Mateo, Calif.-based PDF quality management solutions supplier Enfocus Software and Ann Arbor, Mich.'s Xitron, a raster image processor, RIP management software, and workflow solutions supplier, have partnered to provide XiFlow 2.5 customers with PDF capabilities.
Now shipping, XiFlow 2.5 incorporates Enfocus' PDF Library technology. Utilizing the Enfocus PitStop Library, XiFlow 2.5 users can access preflight, editing, and certification capabilities for PDF documents. The platform also supports Enfocus Certified PDF workflows used for PDF quality assurance and streamlining print production.
Through the end of this year, Xitron customers who buy XiFlow 2.5 will receive a free copy of Enfocus Instant PDF software for their own or a customer's use in facilitating creation of files that will travel through a PDF workflow without problems.
Xitron developed XiFlow to manage Harlequin RIPs including those marketed by Agfa, ECRM, Screen, and Xitron's own Navigator. Moving workflow control from the RIP to the prepress operator workstation, XiFlow allows creation of multiple job streams for all job types frequently handled by a prepress department.
A plug-in for Adobe Acrobat, Enfocus Instant PDF closes the loop from PDF creation to accurate final output of error-free PDFs from within any application. Built-in Certified PDF technology ensures quality and keeps users connected to up-to-date specifications via CertifiedPDF.net software.
