Pennsylvania Newspapers Form Ad Network

By: E&P Staff Six Pennsylvania newspaper companies have entered into an agreement to form the Greater Pittsburgh Newspaper Network (GPNN). Advertisers interested in targeting the Pittsburgh market can now buy pre-prints in papers through one point of contact.

The network includes the Beaver County Times, the Butler Eagle, the Indiana Gazette, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Trib Total Media and the Washington Observer-Reporter.

Gail Arena has been named executive director of GPNN. She most recently served as advertising director at The New York Times.

"The creation of the GPNN builds on the cooperative spirit that has been developing among Pittsburgh newspapers to provide more value to our readers and advertisers," Chris Chamberlain, president of the Post-Gazette, said in a statement.

GPNN gives advertisers the ability to contact close to one million unduplicated readers.
