'Pittsburgh Post-Gazette' Promotes Three Editors

By: E&P Staff Susan L. Smith has been promoted to managing editor of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Smith, 52, most recently was assistant managing editor/enterprise; she has served the Post-Gazette in various roles for more than two decades. Before that, she worked for USA Today, the Trenton (N.J.) Times, the Beaver County (Pa.) Times, and the Lancaster (Pa.) New Era. She replaces Madelyn Ross.

Mary Leonard has been appointed deputy managing editor. Leonard, 57, who most recently was business editor, will continue to supervise the business news department while also supervising the Post-Gazette's Internet news operation.

Steve Massey has been promoted to business editor. Massey, 47, previously served as associate business editor.
