By: E&P Staff Tensor Group Inc., Woodridge, Ill., has completed start up two T-400BE four-high towers and one H-50 jaw folder with quarterfold capability at Signature Graphics, Portland, Ore., a full-service commercial printer with graphic design operations in Portland in Seattle.
Founded 25 years ago, Signature Graphics in 1996 expanded its Tensor press line by the same number of units. It bought its first Tensor press in 1996 and has continued ramping up its print capabilities by adding Tensor equipment six times, including 1996, when it also bought two towers. Today it operates 48 Tensor press units and seven folders.
The Signature sales were made through Rick Boat? of Offset Web Systems, Tensor's U.S. commercial agent.
The 21.5-inch-cutoff T-400BE towers' features provide enhanced dot reproduction and greater registration controls. Among them are preloaded bearing-mounted eccentrics, bearers on the blanket, plate cylinders, helical drive gears for smoother movement, motorized ink-fountain rollers, EPG remote inking system and CC1 Inc. color-to-color registration controls.
