By: E&P Staff Border Mail Printing Pty Ltd., Wodonga, Victoria, Australia, streamlined printing with a QuadTech Ribbon Control System with MultiCam and a QuadTech Register Guidance System with MultiCam on its Goss Uniliner S Press last year.
Border Mail is an established regional newspaper and commercial printer, producing 2.4 million tabloid copies per week, including its flagship title six-day The Border Mail (circulation 26,579). The Register Guidance and Ribbon Control systems "help us maintain our edge in this very competitive marketplace," Border Mail Printing General manager Damian Balkin said in a statement
With register and cut off now controlled automatically, "our printers are free to concentrate on other aspects of quality control, such as ink densities and color," Balkin said. The equipment has also reduced waste because the MultiCam "stays locked on to marks during web tension upsets, particularly during startups, splices and blanket washes," he added.
