By: E&P Staff Saxotech Inc., the Tampa-based subsidiary of Denmark's Saxotech A/S, on Wednesday announced the acquisition of CKP Newspaper Systems Inc., Bedford, N.H.

Saxotech retained CKP's assets and employees, who specialize in developing and supporting advertising systems. CKP President Pat Stewart has joined Saxotech management, where his "market knowledge with advertising systems brings a new dimension" to the company, Saxotech President and CEO Anders Christiansen said in a statement.

"The acquisition will enable us to aggressively expand our company into new markets in the publishing software business," Christiansen said.

Founded in 1993, privately owned Saxotech's solutions are used to plan, create, edit, and publish news for multiple channels. Saxotech software is used by more than 300 news organizations. Recent North American sales include editorial systems for E.W. Scripps' Ventura County (Calif.) Star and La Presse, in Montreal.

CKP was founded in 1994 to support a system abandoned by DuPont that had been installed at the Houston Chronicle. CKP's Millennium editorial and advertising systems are installed at sites around the world.
