We are thrilled to welcome Simon Ducroquet to the Graphics desk as a graphics/multimedia editor. An experienced and imaginative visual journalist, Simon will investigate and explain the news across all coverage areas through multimedia-rich storytelling that combines 3D modeling, illustrations, data analysis, photography and video.
Simon comes from The Washington Post, where he was a reporter and editor in the climate and the environment department. His work revealed how microplastics enter the human body, the relationship between British architecture and weather extremes, and what a tide gauge in Georgia reveals about America’s climate future.
When Hurricane Helene hit western North Carolina, Simon was quick to examine what caused the devastation and visualize its environmental toll. This coverage was a Pulitzer finalist for National Reporting in 2025.
Previously, he worked in Brazil, as a graphics reporter at Folha de São Paulo and O Globo, and led the visuals team at Nexo, a digital-only news outlet.
Please join us in welcoming him!
