By: E&P Staff As "Stone Soup" reached its 10th anniversary Sunday, the comic focused its attention on the 100th anniversary of the Theory of Relativity.
Cartoonist Jan Eliot noted in yesterday's strip that Albert Einstein's mathematician wife, Mileva, deserves half the credit for coming up with the breakthrough theory.
"Two Einsteins created the theory," the Valerie Stone character tells Wally in the Sunday strip. "They worked out the theory together, at their kitchen table, in 1905. He never admitted it publicly, but he gave her the Nobel Prize money." Val adds that Einstein "failed to produce any significant physics work after his collaboration with Mileva ended."
"Stone Soup" is distributed by Universal Press Syndicate.
