By: Joe Strupp Arthur Sulzberger Jr., chairman of The New York Times Company, will headline the list of speakers at the 2008 WebbyConnect Summit, from Oct. 22 to Oct. 24, 2008, in Dana Point, Ca., organizers announced Monday.
Founded in 2007, WebbyConnect "brings the Webby Awards? trademark flair and style to the world of industry conferences," a release boasted, adding "By gathering innovators in diverse fields such as entertainment, advertising, and politics, WebbyConnect offers a unique opportunity to connect with leaders across disciplines and delve into trends affecting other facets of the Internet."
Sulzberger, whose NYTimes.com has won eight Webby Awards, will deliver the opening keynote address. More than 250 Webby Awards winners and others will attend and participate in sessions over the course of the three-day summit, organizers said. They include: Huffington Post CEO Betsy Morgan, Time Warner CCO Mark D'Arcy, GoFish CEO Matt Freeman, Tumblr founder David Karp, BoingBoing co-founder David Pescovitz, Sling Media President Jason Hirschorn and Treehugger founder Graham Hill.

"Exploring the future of the Internet and emerging media, the summit will showcase panels on a wide range of provocative topics ? from Internet 'dark arts' like splogs and fleecing ads to the secrets of overnight Web stardom to 'green' Web marketing," a release about the event stated. "The full roster of keynotes and panelists will be announced later this summer."
