Tensor Additions, Heatset for Canadian Printer

By: E&P Staff Tensor Group Inc., Woodridge, Ill., installed its first heatset press in Canada, at Prolific Web, Winnipeg.

Prolific Web recently bought four Tensor T-1400 units to add onto its Tensor press line, converting two-highs into four-high towers. The units are equipped with Tensor remote motorization and a full helical gear train, allowing the units to run at 40,000 impressions per hour.

The heavy-duty H-50 jaw folder includes a commercial quarter folder, double parallel, crosshead perforator, ring perforator, double under folder leads and former air with blower.

Prolific Web has operated its Tensor press line since 2002, producing commercial newspapers, flyers, and trader publications. Increased demand for quality four-color work was behind the press expansion. The heatset addition and the double parallel on the folder were needed to accommodate more commercial book work and other niche products.
