By: E&P Staff Tensor Group, based in Woodridge, Ill., announced that its U.K. partner, Techprint Services, sold additional Tensor equipment to 'The Barnsley Chronicle' in South Yorkshire, England.
The Chronicle increased ad revenue and color capacity with two Tensor T-1400 four-high towers and associated equipment three years ago. With two more towers and two reelstands to be installed this month, the Chronicle will run six webs that can be printed four-over-four out of a possible eight webs. An existing tower will be converted to shaftless drive.
The Chronicle also will replace its Goss SSC folder with a Tensor H-50, a heavy-duty folder designed for maximum speed of 50,000 copies per hour and capable of handling up to 12 webs for broadsheets and tabloids and eight webs in quarter-fold mode.
