Posted

We’re delighted to welcome Renée Rippberger to Opinion as an editorial assistant supporting Tom Friedman.

Renée is originally from Minneapolis and currently lives in Washington. She most recently worked at the Brookings Institution with Norman Eisen, a former ambassador to the Czech Republic, as a research analyst and an assistant on democratic resilience and rule of law projects.

Renée graduated from the University of Glasgow with a master’s degree in Central and Eastern European, Russian and Eurasian studies and has lived in France, Estonia, Scotland and Poland. She also spent two and a half years living in Armenia, working as a researcher on money laundering and counterterrorism financing. She speaks French and Russian.

In her spare time, Renée enjoys swing and blues dancing, traveling, reading and baking.

Renée will work from our D.C. bureau. Please join me in giving her a warm welcome to Opinion!
