Third Annual 'Will Rogers Writing Contest' Is Announced

By: E&P Staff Entries are now being accepted for the 2008 Will Rogers Writing Contest.

The 2006-launched competition is open to anyone interested in Will Rogers (1879-1935) -- who was a newspaper columnist, movie star, and more.

Cash prizes include $200 for first place, $100 for second place, and $50 for third place.

Entrants submit an original essay of 500-750 words written in the style of Rogers. The deadline is Oct. 1, with winners announced Nov. 1, according to columnist and Rogers expert Robert Haught.
