By: Lucia Moses Former Washington Redskins President and CEO John Kent Cooke agreed to buy The Key West (Fla.) Citizen, weekday circulation 10,500, and six sister nondailies, from Thomson Corp., the company where Cooke's father got his start.
With this deal, whose terms were not disclosed, Thomson has negotiated sales involving 45 dailies, leaving four U.S. and five Canadian papers to be sold. Thomson is selling all its papers except The Globe and Mail in Toronto to focus on electronic publishing.
