Posted
By: E&P Staff Mobile platform company Verve Wireless has rolled out a new mobile coupon application. Advertisers can send out coupons based on a variety of options, including time of day, neighborhood results, user's present location, and context. Users will be able to redeem the coupon at the retailer.

"We have community businesses that have been advertising with us for years, and they are always looking for ways to drive customers into their place of business," Tim Repsher, managing director of mobile product & business development for Media General, said in a statement. "They are embracing mobile advertising because it compliments their other advertising efforts, it can be measured and it is comparable to other marketing methods they are familiar with."

The San Diego-based Verve powers AP's mobile initiative. The company also said it recently partnered with the Chicago Sun-Times, The San Diego Union-Tribune, and The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Verve has served more than 1.5 million local mobile ads.
