By: E&P Staff Traffic at The Washington Post's Web site, washingtonpost.com, reached a record 323.3 million page views in September -- a jump of 42% over September 2007, the paper said Thursday.
The record was nearly 27% higher than its previous high of 272.5 million page views, the paper said.
Not surprisingly, the record was driven by politics, where traffic was up 233% over last year. Business topics also drove traffic, pushing page views up 141% over 2007.
The most-viewed blogs included "The Fix," "The Trail," and "PostPartisan."
"In addition to the popularity of our reporting on politics and business, our video and photo galleries also saw a steep increase in use this month," said Jim Brady, executive editor of washingtonpost.com.
Over 1.4 million videos were played, up 162% over the same time last year, he said.
