White House Correspondents' Dinner Gets 'Desperate'

Posted
By: Joe Strupp It may lack Stephen Colbert this year, but it looks like this year's White House Correspondents Association Dinner will have a desperate air to it -- "Desperate Housewives" that is. Two top stars from the ABC show, Teri Hatcher and James Denton, as well as creator Marc Cherry, are among the VIPs slated to attend the annual dinner, set for April 21. Rich Little, the impressonist, will be the host.

Also on the official guest list: embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and ex-White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card, not to mention singer Wyclef Jean -- whose name on the current guest list comes out Jean Wyclef.

Try to imagine this table if some evil genius seats them together: Larry David, Jane Fonda, Henry Kissinger, Dennis Hopper, Morgan Fairchild, Paul Wolfowitz, and David Geffen.

It is not known whose guests they all are for the dinner, which only WHCA members and their guests can attend.

According to a preliminary list obtained by E&P, the likely attendees will also include New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush, Baltimore Orioles great Brooks Robinson, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Katie Couric and Charles Gibson, the ex-Mrs. Paul McCartney Heather Mills, skater Michelle Kwan, Mary Tyler Moore and Kerry Washington.
