By: The CBS News reporter seriously wounded in Iraq by a car bomb that killed four people should be returning to the United States from Germany in a few days, the network said Monday.
Kimberly Dozier, 39, was critically wounded May 29 while reporting a story on Memorial Day in Iraq. The attack killed her camera crew, Britons Paul Douglas and James Brolan; Army Capt. James A. Funkhouser of Katy, Texas; and an Iraqi translator.
Dozier underwent two emergency surgeries before being flown the next day to the U.S. military's Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in southern Germany. She suffered wounds to the head and lower body, and her family said she would need rods in her legs.
A CBS News statement said Monday that Dozier remains in critical but stable condition "and is doing well, all things considered."
"She is expected to be transported back to the United States in the next few days," the network said.
Monday was a holiday in Germany, and no official comment was available from Landstuhl
