'WSJ' Names New Washington Columnist

By: E&P Staff Kimberley A. Strassel has been named the new Washington columnist for The Wall Street Journal.

Strassel, 33, has been an editorial writer since January 2002. She joined the newspaper's editorial board in November.

In her new capacity, Strassel will resume the Journal's weekly Potomac Watch column, which has been on hiatus for the last five years.

Strassel started her journalism career as a news assistant at The Central European Economic Review in Brussels, and later worked in London as a reporter covering technology for The Wall Street Journal's European edition.

She relocated to New York in 1999, and worked briefly as a real estate reporter at the Journal before she was assigned to the editorial page.
