American City Business Journals Inc. Touts Success of its Newsweeklies Group

Posted
By: E&P Staff American City Business Journals Inc. is launching a national campaign detailing and promoting the growth of its metro business newsweeklies group.

On Friday, all 40 ACBJ papers printed a four-page ?wrap? section with statistics and testimonials, with customized local marketing and advertising featuring prominent business leaders in each area. The marketing is themed around the message ?Who Do You Want To Meet Today??

Some of the statistics the ?wrap? includes are the 3.85% growth in paid circulation over the last four years (compared to the nearly 19% loss among daily newspapers during the same time period), the success of their Business Journal events, and statistics showing that the ACBJ?s specialty in local business news is key to readers.

Business leaders provided testimonials about real-life uses of ACBJ papers as well, including its uses in finding new sales, jobs and business opportunities, including ways to receive government stimulus funds.

Many of the testimonials can be found at the ACBJ?s Web site, www.bizjournals.com/meet. The campaign will also utilize the individual Web sites for each of its 40 publications, which together have more than 8 million unique visitors each month.

?Our circulation has been growing for several years in a row,? Whit Shaw, CEO of ACBJ, said in a statement. ?We're probably the only print newspaper company in the country that can say that.?
