COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Missouri School of Journalism announced today that Amy Simons, a professor and the John A. Walsh Distinguished Faculty Fellow, will become the next associate dean for undergraduate studies and administration. Simons will assume the role on May 1.

In this role, Simons will lead the School of Journalism’s undergraduate programs and work to support student success at the world’s first school of journalism, which pioneered the Missouri Method of hands-on learning in real newsrooms and ad agencies.

“Amy has lived the Missouri Method as a student, practiced it in the industry and spent many years elevating how we teach it,” said David Kurpius, dean of the School of Journalism. “Her expertise in curriculum development and commitment to student and faculty success make her well suited to guide the School’s undergraduate programs.”
