CHICAGO — Audientia Institute is a developing peer networking platform that aims to connect news professionals across organizations, and is currently building its founding cohort of users to test and provide feedback on the platform’s features.
The platform algorithm connects different members based on their roles, organizational characteristics and any professional challenges they disclose during onboarding. Its goal is to help news professionals find peers facing similar situations, share knowledge and support each other across the industry.
“Audientia makes it easier to find the right people — whether you're looking for someone who's solved a problem you're facing, a mentor in your specialty or just a peer who gets what you're going through,” said Alexandria Luster, founder of Audientia Institute.
Alongside the platform's development, Audientia Institute has opened a survey on the state of local news, exploring the resource gaps news organizations face around tools, training, funding and staffing. The findings will be published publicly and used to aid the platform's continued development.
The survey takes under five minutes to complete and is open to anyone working in the news industry. Respondents will receive a summary of the findings.
