Bankrupt Claremont 'Eagle Times' May See Two Bidders

By: A New Hampshire newspaper that closed last month and filed for bankruptcy protection has attracted two prospective buyers.

The bankruptcy trustee for the parent company of The Eagle Times of Claremont says the paper could have new ownership later this month.

Victor Dahar, attorney for the estate and bankruptcy trustee for Eagle Publications, Inc., tells the Brattleboro Reformer thare are two suitors ready to bid on the paper as of Monday.

Within a few days, Dahar said he plans to prepare the proper filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manchester, N.H., give notice to creditors and schedule a public hearing.

The daily newspaper had an estimated circulation of more than 8,000 before Eagle Publications declared Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
