By: E&P Staff Belgium's French-language multiple-media publishing group IPM selected Methode from EidosMedia of Milan, Italy, as the basis for its new editorial and publishing system.

IPM operations range from the national dailies La Libre Belgique and La Derni?re Heure/Les Sports and magazine titles to Web portals and broadcasting. The changeover to will coincide with the group's move to new newsroom facilities.

Serving a user base of about 180 internal and external journalists and correspondents, Methode will provide an organizationwide knowledge base feeding multiple editorial workflows. XML-based concurrent-publishing will drive print and electronic channels from a shared content base without need to repurpose or adapt, with channel-neutral XML content tailored to each publication route by application of CSS stylesheets and SVG-based page geometry.

IPM CEO Fran?ois le Hodey said the change will transform IPM "from a single-product model to a multiple-product enterprise" that integrates production of print, syndication, Web and broadcasting on one platform."
