We’re pleased to announce that Bianca Pallaro is joining The Times as a data reporter on the Data Journalism team.

Bianca comes to us from The City, where she was responsible for executing data-driven investigations that uncovered violations of public trust and drove real-world impact. She was the senior data reporter on the investigations team that received an honorable mention by the Toner Prizes for a series uncovering straw donors and ethics violations in Eric Adams’s mayoral campaign fundraising efforts, now under federal investigation.

Previously, she worked on USA Today’s data journalism team, handling quick-turn data projects and enterprise stories. In 2021, she had a yearlong stint on The Upshot, where she collaborated with reporters across the newsroom to turn numbers into insightful reporting. She partnered with the Metro desk to expose how decades of mismanagement led to chaos within the Rikers Island jail, which won a New York Press Club Award, and produced front-page explainers on where the billions in U.S. funds to help Ukraine would go.

Before moving to the United States to pursue her master’s at Columbia University, she worked at La Nacion, a prominent Argentinian newspaper. She was part of the award-winning team that exposed Argentina’s notebook corruption scandal that led to the prosecution of a former president and dozens of other government officials.

Please join us in welcoming her to The Times.
