By: E&P Staff The Sun Post, a free weekly delivered to 20,000 houseolds in Lathrop and Manteca, Calif., folded with last Friday's issue, Publisher Bob Matthews told readers in a Web posting this week.

But Matthews said the shuttering, while indefinite, is not forever.

"While this severe recession has brought many businesses to their knees, including ours, we're convinced it will pass, and when it does, our community newspaper company will rebound," Matthews wrote. "We're certain we'll be back, in some form or another, in Lathrop and Manteca."

The Sun Post shut down a little more than one month shy of the fourth anniversary of its founding 2005.
