WSMV-Channel 4 reporter Joylyn Bukovac has drawn national attention by revealing on the air Monday − while covering the mass shooting at Covenant School − that she herself, 13 years ago, was a student who witnessed a school shooting.
"This is something that hits very close to home for me," Bukavac, 27, said during a live shot.
"Many of you might not know this, but I am actually a school shooting survivor," she said. "It happened a while ago — I was in middle school."
