'Comic Riffs' Blog Hosts 'Cul de Sac' Coloring Contest

Posted
By: E&P Staff The Washington Post's "Comic Riffs" blog is hosting its first official coloring contest for the nationally syndicated comic strip "Cul de Sac."

The Sunday strip, drawn by cartoonist Richard Thompson, has been printed in black-and-white since it was moved from The Washington Post Magazine to the Arts & Style section of the paper about two months ago. The contest will give readers the chance to fill in the color on any ?Cul de Sac? comic they like. A few black-and-white strips are available on the Comic Riffs site for readers to fill in.

Thompson will judge the contest, which is open to all ages, and the winning entries will be published on the Comic Riffs blog. The coloring can be done either with traditional crayons or pencils, or on a computer. The blog asks for young children to write their ages on their entries.

The deadline for entries is Dec. 7, and they may be submitted either by e-mail to comicriffs@washpost.com or by mail to: ?Comic Riffs,? The Washington Post, 1150 15th St. NW, Washington, D.C., 20071.
