Conrad Black to Play (The Donald) Trump Card at Trial

Posted
By: E&P Staff Donald Trump will jet to Chicago on Monday to testify at the trial of former Hollinger chief, Conrad Black, the New York Post is reporting today.

"Trump will tell the largely blue-collar jury that he attended a surprise 60th birthday party in 2000 for Black's wife, the conservative columnist Barbara Amiel, and that it felt like a business event rather than simply a personal celebration, sources said. 'It's going to be bedlam,' one source said of the celebrity factor hitting the trial.

"A rep for Trump said he couldn't discuss the case and had no comment. Black's lead lawyer, Edward 'Fast Eddie' Greenspan, couldn't be reached.
Trump's arrival in court is a bit of a surprise....

"Trump, is expected to testify that he considered it a work-related event because he was in the middle of negotiations to buy the headquarters of the Chicago Sun-Times, which was owned by Hollinger International."
