Cox Media Names Additional Management in Reorganization

By: Katy Bachman, Mediaweek As part of Cox Media's reorganization for a more integrated strategy across its radio, TV, and newspaper properties, the company on Thursday named three additional corporate appointments and four group vice presidents.

Marc Morgan was named senior vice president and chief revenue officer and Bill Hoffman, vice president and general manager of WSB-TV, the company's ABC affiliate in Atlanta, will take on the additional role as vice president of Cox Media Group. Both executives report to Sandy Schwartz, Cox Media Group's president.

A 25-year Cox veteran, Morgan most recently served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for Cox Radio.

In his new position, Hoffman will serve as the company's TV champion, coordinating syndicated programming for the stations and overseeing Cox's Washington Bureau. (Cox named radio and newspaper champions on Wednesday) when the company first announced its new business model.

In addition, Gregg Lindahl was named vice president of digital, reporting to Doug Franklin, executive vp of Cox Media Group. Lindahl was most recently vice president of interactive and news technologies for Cox Radio.

The following executives are getting group vice president titles with
responsibilities for Cox's local media properties, grouped by region.

Rich Reis will also serve as senior VP/radio operations, reporting
to Bob Neil, executive vice president of Cox Media Group. Reis was most recently group vice president for Cox Radio.

Kim Guthrie, most recently market manager of Cox Radio in southern
Connecticut and regional vice president of Cox Radio, will now oversee Cox radio stations in Athens, Ga.; Norwalk, Conn.; Bridgeport, Conn.; New Haven, Conn.; Greenville, S.C.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Long Island, N.Y. and Richmond, Va., as well as its television station in Pittsburgh, Pa. (WPXI-TV). With her appointment, Ray Carter, vice president and general manager of WPXI-TV, will add responsibility for WJAC-TV and WTOV-TV, the company's TV stations in Johnston, Penn. and Steubenville, Ohio.

Both Reis and Guthrie report to Neil.

Jay O'Connor, formerly regional vice president and market manager for Cox's Tampa radio stations, will now oversee Cox's TV stations in San Francisco (KTVU-TV); San Jose, Calif. (KICU-TV); Seattle (KIRO-TV); El Paso, Texas (KFOX-TV); and Reno, Nev. (KRXI-TV, KAME-TV), as well as its six radio stations in Hawaii. He reports to Schwartz.

Ben Reed, most recently regional vice president and market manager for Cox's radio stations in San Antonio, will oversee Cox's radio stations in Houston; San Antonio; Tulsa, Okla.; and Birmingham, Ala.; as well as the Austin American-Statesman. He reports to Franklin.
