By: E&P Staff The Kingston (Ontario) Whig-Standard left the plant 10 hours late on Wednesday morning after an diode in the press electronics short-circuited Tuesday night just as the press was about to start up.
The paper reported that its press malfunction was repaired early Wednesday, and that it was able to deliver its 28,000 copies ,beginning at about 10:30 in the morning.
Staffers were sent to the Peterborough Examiner to prepare for the possible need to print at the Osprey Media sister paper.
Publisher Ron Laurin saluted the "incredible efforts" of press and delivery crews in getting the Whig-Standard out that day.
