'Doonesbury' Character Also Wants Cheney to Be Impeached

Posted
By: E&P Staff A day after "Doonesbury" character Mark Slackmeyer called for President Bush's impeachment, he said he wants the same fate for Vice President Cheney.

In today's comic, Mark continues to look at reader e-mails with Mike Doonesbury. "A.F." of Omaha writes, "Dear Mike: What do you think of the conservative strips that papers buy to balance your politics?" -- referring to comics such as "Mallard Fillmore" and "Prickly City."

Mike replies: "Hey, the more 'balance' the better, A.F.! But it may surprise you to learn that most of the time, this feature isn't political at all! In fact, in the last year, 271 of 365 strips were completely politics free!"

Then Mark says "Impeach Cheney, too!" -- to which Mike responds: "Hey! Stop wasting our quota!"

Mark has the same thing on his mind as Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), the presidential candidate who plans to file articles of impeachment against Cheney.

Garry Trudeau's "Doonesbury" runs in about 1,400 newspapers via Universal Press Syndicate.
