I'm at the first day of the Interactive Publishing conference in Zurich today, and expect to file columns in this space on Thursday and Friday. For today, may I suggest that you take a look elsewhere on the Editor & Publisher Interactive Web service, which plays host to this column. If you read this column daily and have bookmarked this page in your Web browser, you may not have noticed what else is here.
There's a lot of useful information elsewhere on this site, including an E&P Web Edition containing newspaper industry news -- with an emphasis on interactive communications -- from Editor & Publisher magazine. You'll also find classified ads from E&P, an interactive media conference listing, the Online Newspaper Services Resource Directory (a database of more than 550 online newspaper services worldwide, maintained by me), and other features. On the main E&P Interactive main page, scroll down to the bottom where you'll see a series of icons pointing you to the various services offered on this site.
I'm pleased to report that E&P Interactive received a 4-star rating in the December "CyberGuide" issue of NetGuide magazine in the World News section. E&P also is rated among the Top 5% of All Sites on Internet in the Point Survey, a site rating and review service on the World Wide Web.
If you click on the NetGuide link in the previous paragraph, you'll find a useful listing of online media resources, ranked for quality on a 1- to 4-star rating scale. NetGuide also praised the online-news Internet list and gave it a 4-Star rating. I'm the "owner" of that list and am justifiably proud that the 1,400+ people who take part in this continuing online discourse about the future of online news publishing have created such a compelling discussion forum. The participants make up an intelligent, literate group, and their ongoing conversation is influential in guiding the direction of the interactive news field.
So, enough tooting my own horn. I hope you'll explore the rest of E&P Interactive, and I'll be back tomorrow with reports from Zurich.
