Ferag Receives More EasySert Orders

Posted
By: E&P Staff In addition to the EasySert at North Wales Newspapers (E&P Online, Nov. 13), Ferag has made its first North American sale of the new inserter.

Each of two EasySert lines for Sun Media's London, Ontario, operation are to be equipped with 20 JetFeeder hoppers. Both lines are to permit fine zoning, with supplement assignment down to small partial editions. The inserters are expected to begin processing approximately 30 titles in February for the Quebecor subsidiary.

Other EasySert orders were placed by South Africa's Paarl Coldset newspaper printer, with FlyStream precollecting for 6-into-1 inserting, and by two large German printers, each for a line of 2-into-1 processing of supplements, one into the other.

Rated at 25,000 copies per hour, EasySert will open products by lap or vacuum. It can open a thin flyer without a lap and insert a single sheet, maybe even one wider than the flyer, according to Sales Manager Marcel Weber. The machine inserts directly into the gripper (up to 40 pockets) and offers repair capability not available on the large drum inserter. Misses are sent back around for insertion. Ferag UTR gripper guides the product from infeed, through inserting and out for bundling.
