By: E&P Staff It will take more than some spare change to buy a recent edition of a Chinese newspaper. According to Xinhua news agency, the world's first gold newspaper has been published Shenzhen, an economically prosperous city in the China's Guangdong province.
The paper, published by the China Economic Daily, comes at two price points. The more expensive version fetches $8,100 (or 69,000 yuan) and uses 500 grams of gold. The more budget-friendly 200-gram gold edition costs $3,500 (or 29,000 yuan).
The paper is called China's Flourishing Period and it was created to celebrate the achievements of China's top legislative body in its last 10 sessions.
