Freedom Communications Holdings, Inc. and Easy Reader, Inc. announced today that they have signed a comprehensive, long-term management agreement.

Freedom Communications Holdings, Inc. will assume management responsibilities for all aspects of the Easy Reader business, including all of its print publications and Internet sites.

Easy Reader, along with its sister publications, Beach, Peninsula People and Drop Zone, will maintain their primary business offices in Hermosa Beach.

Easy Reader publisher Kevin Cody will continue in his role.

"Easy Reader has a four-decade long history of serving the journalistic needs of the beach communities of Los Angeles. Our agreement with Freedom Communications gives us the financial and managerial resources to build on that legacy," Cody said.

It is anticipated that the existing staff will continue and expand upon their current roles.

Aaron Kushner, co-owner and Chief Executive Officer of Freedom Communications, said, "Kevin Cody, Richard Budman and the entire Easy Reader team have built over many years a fabulous franchise of local journalism and publications supporting local advertisers, which fit perfectly with how we strive to build community. We couldn't be more excited to work with and welcome the Easy Reader staff to our broader Freedom Communications mission of building community. And we are looking forward to expanding the breadth and depth of what we are able to provide to readers and advertisers in the coming years.”
