Gage Church is named editor of the Ames Tribune

A veteran Des Moines Register editor, Gage Church, has been named editor of the Ames (Iowa) Tribune.

Church said his focus will be on producing trustworthy community journalism, coaching younger journalists and telling stories in varied and sometimes experimental ways.

"I am honored to serve such a robust community and look forward to getting to know Ames residents and their interests," Church said.

Church succeeds Chuck Carlson as Tribune editor. Carlson joined the Purdue University communications staff as a writer.
