Gerald Ensley: It Was a Big Win for Newspapers, Too

By: Gerald Ensley |

The lines started soon after we opened the doors at 8 a.m. Tuesday. People began pouring in to buy printed proof of FSU’s defeat of Auburn the night before in the BCS national football championship.

A table was set up in the lobby, in addition to the main business window. We sold Tuesday morning’s newspaper, a Tuesday afternoon special commemorative edition, seven varieties of posters and a book, “Unconquered,” a retrospective of FSU’s 2013 season. For hours, there were always at least six or seven people in line.
