Getty Images and National Hockey League Ink Deal

By: E&P Staff A four-year agreement has been signed that designates Getty Images "the exclusive worldwide commercial distributor" of National Hockey League visuals, according to Getty Images.

The photos date back to the early days of the NHL, which was founded in 1917. Included are the collections of hockey photographers Denis Brodeur and Bruce Bennett, who documented the glory days of the Montreal Canadians and New York Islanders, respectively.

Under the deal, Getty Images will continue to cover a majority of regular-season games and all Stanley Cup Playoff games.
