By: E&P Staff Guy Gilmore has been appointed president and publisher of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, effective immediately. He was most recently vice president of circulation.
In a statement Dean Singleton, CEO of MediaNews Group, owner of the paper, said: "Guy has been the leading architect of the Pioneer Press' winning strategy to dominate the Twin Cities east metro market. We look forward to his dynamic leadership as the newspaper moves forward in a changing media environment.?
Under Gilmore's circulation leadership, the paper reported gains in daily and Sunday including the most recent circulation period.
Gilmore, 52, also served as the president and publisher of the Morning Call in Allentown, Pa. He worked at top circulation posts at The Sun in Baltimore and The Oregonian in Portland.
