Billionaire investor John Henry and The New York Times Co. have set an Oct. 15 target date to close on the $70 million sale of
The Boston Globe and its parent, the New England Media Group, according to a source familiar with the deal’s terms.
People close to the
Globe’s operations say the 64-year-old Henry and his wife, Linda Pizzuti, have been a near-daily presence at the company’s Morrissey Boulevard headquarters in Dorchester since his winning bid for the media giant was announced Aug. 2. Those sources say Pizzuti in particular has shown a strong interest in the company’s production operations, namley the 330,000 square feet of space housing the
Globe’s printing presses in Boston.
