By: E&P Staff First-quarter business at Inland Newspaper Machinery Corp. of Lenexa, Kan., included a press expansion, equipment brokering, and representation in the sale of two presses.

Wick Communications' Sierra Vista (Ariz.) Herald signed for a press expansion that calls for the addition of six SSC units to its existing Goss Community press, installed by Inland two years ago. The expansion includes a four-high tower and a stacked pair of units. Installation is planned for mid-July.

Inland brokered three press lines: for Superior Publishing Corp., an eight-unit Harris V15A to El Hispana, Dallas; for Cox Newspapers, an eight-unit Goss Urbanite to Web Press Equipment in Monterrey, Mexico; and for the Omaha World Herald group, a four-unit V15A to 2000 Business Corp of Miami.

The company also reached an exclusive agreement with Tribune Co.'s Orlando Sentinel Communications to represent it in the sale of two nine-unit singlewide press lines located at the regional production center, in Sorrento, Fla., which it closed last year.
