Jamie Foxx Notes Hometown Paper in Golden Globe Speech

Posted
By: E&P Staff In accepting his Golden Globe award Sunday night for best performance by an actor in a comedy or musical, Jamie Foxx thanked at least a couple dozen people who worked on the film, family members, and the usual agents.

He also mentioned his hometown paper.

Foxx, who was born in Terrell, Texas, happily exclaimed that if all the attention and honors weren't enough, the paper he grew up with, the Terrell Tribune, "put me on the front page for the first time, and it's only 28 pages."

Later Sunday night, the paper's Web site announced his Golden Globe win.
